Mission Statement

Community Charities of Minnesota is a 501C-3 Organization assisting nonprofit groups statewide in their fund raising efforts. Since 1994, Community Charities has donated over 4 million dollars to help youth programs, provide scholarships, help individuals suffering from effects of poverty, fund educational and social programs to enhance the communities that we serve. We have provided significant funding for tornado and flood relief state wide along with our contributions to Habitat for Humanity. Annually, we donate several thousands of dollars to assist local food shelves to provide food for the needy. We are an avid supporter of the Santa Anonymous and similar programs to provide kids with gifts they would not otherwise receive. These are just some of the areas where the proceeds from Community Charities of Minnesota events go. To find out more about CCM check out our charitable programs and events!

About Community Charities of Minnesota

In 1982 the Minnesota Bowling proprietors founded Celebrity Bowl Charities as a 501-C-3 organization.  In 1994 Celebrity Bowl Charities changed its name to Community Charities of Minnesota.  Community Charities of Minnesota’s function is to conduct fundraising events to benefit the communities is which we operate.  In the beginning Bowling Tournaments were held to benefit the Ronald McDonald house, Bowlers Veterans Link and Cancer Research.  Currently we conduct 3 major fundraisers annually.

Our golf tournament generates funds to operate the Miracle League Softball Field located in N. Mankato.  This field was built so individuals that are physically challenged can participate in this endeavor.   The field is 100% wheel chair assessable and teams from all over the 5 state area come to participate.

In the fall we conduct a Charity Hunt at Taxlers Hunting Preserve in Le Center Minnesota. Traxlers provides upland game bird, duck, pheasant and partridge hunting. Dogs and guns supplied. Full restaurant available. Cabins also available for overnight stays. The net profit from these funds goes to Immanuel St. Joseph Hospice Foundation.

In November and December of each year our members conduct toy drives at their place of business.  The items and money are donated to the Toys for Tots Foundation.

In March of each year our members participate in the Minnesota Food Share program, the largest food drive in the state and restocks more than 260 food shelves across Minnesota. It recruits thousands of congregations, corporations, schools and civic groups to run local food and fund drives to aid in the effort.food drives at their place of business.

When Charitable Gambling became legal, our organization believed that this would be another means to raise funds for charity.  In 1994 Community Charities of Minnesota reorganized and started in the Charitable Gambling Business.  With sites all over the State it became evident that many needs existed in the communities where we were operating or going to operate lawful purpose gambling.  At that time it was decided that at least 85% of the net profit would stay in the community where those funds were raised.

Since 1994 we have been able to generate over 4 million dollars for a very diverse spectrum of charities. Local government agencies (Schools, Cities, Park and Rec and Community Action Councils) receive funds generated from lawful purpose gambling.  Youth activities, scholarships, athletic programs also receive a very significant amount of funds annually.  Local food shelves along with churches receive funding from Community Charities of Minnesota.

It is our commitment to our members and the communities where we operate to support local charities to the best of our ability.  We like to say that the majority of the money generated in a community stays in that community.
